Turning the page to the next chapter of my life.

I feel like in the (almost) twenty-seven years of my life, I have reinvented myself at least a hundred times. My ideas, goals, hopes, and dreams have evolved over the years, but the fundamentals of who I am have not.

As a child, I never was a risk taker. I always listened to authority, behaved as well as any child could, looked both ways before crossing the street, fastened my seatbelt…you get the idea. Even though I knew how to fall in line, I always felt out of place. I constantly wanted to try new things or experiences, but felt stuck from fear.

I quit my job earlier this year to do something I had never done: I decided to take a chance on myself. I spent years nurturing others, helping them grow and achieve their dreams. It’s now my turn to put in the work and achieve mine.

My name is Emily, I’m a Scorpio, and I have huge dreams. Most of my dreams involve writing, which is why I am starting this blog.

I spent the first half of my life being raised in the city and the second half being raised in the country, which sounds like an attempt at an oxymoron. I find that my background is much like my interests: an amalgamation of opposites that create a cohesive whole. While I love towering skyscrapers, the scent of smog, and bright city lights, I also appreciate my current life, which is filled with cow pastures, twinkling night skies, and being part of a small, diverse community.

I think interior design is the same: finding ways to represent your unique set of likes and balancing them with an aesthetic you are trying to achieve.

Mountain Lore Living is more than just design collections I have created to fit design trends and aesthetics – it’s a way to express yourself in the bones of your home in a uniquely beautiful way.

I hope you follow along and love the collections I create. I’m open to suggestions, ideas, and inspiration, like every good writer is.
